Nike Launch The Academy Pack

After intensifying the heat Nike are dimming the lights with a four-silo, blackout collection wrapped under the cover of darkness. The Mercurial Superfly IV, Magista Obra, Tiempo V and HyperVenom go back to black with designs inspired by football academies.

Nike's popular blackout collection has previously dropped under the 'Stealth Pack' title but the latest series arrives with inspiration from professional youth football academies, some of which adopt policies where all their players have to wear all black boots until they earn the right to mix things up when they reach the first team.

Nike's own academy, based at St George's Park, are amongst the first players to test blacked-out versions of Nike’s boots before the boots and their colors are officially revealed to the world, hence more inspiration behind the Academy Pack label. Bright coloured boots are always associated with bold, confident players but there's something undeniably cool about a black-out, a boot to be worn by the player with understated confidence that doesn't need luminous footwear to stand out.

Black gradient changes land across the collection that amplify the design features of each boot, along with subtle pops of colour on the insoles and sole-plates. Back to black, a visually level playing field, take your pick of silos.
